Director of Sponsorship & Engagement

Then Players Sport & Social Group (PSSG) has the role for you: Sponsorship & Engagement Director.


PSSG is one of the country’s leading sport and social groups. We provide Chicago’s young professionals fun and engaging experiences in both sports and social arenas.  We have over 8,000 adult recreational sports teams and social events for tens of thousands every year.  We own, produce and market events from liquor tastings...to Mardi Gras bar crawls...to North Avenue Beach parties. 


As director, you will have a lot of autonomy to design, sell, implement and execute new experiential events from start to finish. 


You will sell sponsorships and oversee activation. You will also identify market demand for emerging social events that build upon our social program. You will continue to build Players Sport & Social Group’s brand through our events and outside marketing.  


Let’s talk if you possess five or more years of sponsorship sales that includes marketing and event production/promotion experience and can show us...

  • A track record of successful sponsorships sold. Are you a strong presenter?
  • How you have created events. Can you see them through from start to finish?
  • An understanding of event activation and operations. How do event marketing, communication with staff/vendors/sponsors and on-site logistics come together?
  • Constant, effective communication skills. How do you lead partner venues, brands, affiliates, sponsors and attendees via phone, email and recap reports?
  • Networking ability. How have you worked with third party organizations and attended industry functions or special events to develop new partnerships?
  • Grasp of latest trends. In on the latest in social media, events and creative concepts?
  • Multi-tasking aptitude. How do you stay organized to manage many tasks at a time.


Though not required, “nice to haves” include any of these: experience in creating social/digital content, an understanding of graphic design programs or a passion for sports.


This position is full time with base salary commensurate with experience, profit sharing, 401k and health benefits.


Note that availability for working events on evenings and weekends throughout the year, especially during summer months, is required.
